Ok, I know this has been on slashdot already, so probably everybody read about it by now, but I thought it was important to point to what, for many reasons, is the more authoritative source for this kind of stuff, IMNSHO. PJ, over at Groklaw, posted an article about the Douglas v USDC Central District [...]

Well, PJ over at Groklaw is at it again, this time with a short but interesting post called Now It’s Spain and OOXML - More Standards Highjinks?.
It seems that back when the technical committee was to meet in Spain to discuss if they’d accept or not Microsoft’s OOXML as an ISO standard, MS sent (or [...]

With the downtime of the old host, the move to the new host and the fact that I busted my back on friday and couldn’t get out of bed until monday, I’ve been way too inactive, both in my RSS reading and my blogging…well…time to catch up :)
First up, catching up with Bruce Schneier…he’s got [...]

We all know that I usually leave all the Web2.0 stuff to Handy, but this time…I’m not actually sure Google Desktop actually qualifies as W2.0, so I decided to take a look at the new linux version :)
I installed Google Desktop for Linux on my box 12 days ago. I was actually pretty excited about [...]

Well…except that OO.o is slow as molasses to start. At least somebody found a way to Make OpenOffice.org Writer Run Faster. He [...]

Ok, this is a bit late (about a week), but…it’s hilarious and I had to post it!
If you’ve followed the SCO saga from the beginning, you probably know all I’m gonna say, so skip to the link. Otherwise, you probably need a bit of background to be able to follow the article :)
Way back then, [...]

I know I haven’t been posting much about the SCO saga anymore, but…truth is, it’s gotten boring, unless you enjoy the legal wrangling.
When this first started, people at IBM and in the Linux community were worried that there may be something behind SCO’s curtain…that there may actually be something real hiding behind all the smoke [...]

Ok, for most laptop users weight is the main thing…the less weight the better, but this laptop from ACME, even tho I’m sure it’s heavier than most, it’s well worth carrying around…tho somebody at Alienware needs to license the multi-monitor technology from these guys or come up with an equivalent…this stuff sounds like a godsend [...]
