As you’ve probably deduced by now, I’m a user of Free/Open Source Software, which means that I skip the MS tax…besides, OpenOffice.org kills MSOffice any day of the week and twice on sunday :)
Well…except that OO.o is slow as molasses to start. At least somebody found a way to Make OpenOffice.org Writer Run Faster. He says it works on ubuntu, but it’s not only for that…it works with any Linux distro (I tried it on mandriva 2007.1 and it works), and I don’t see a reason why it shouldn’t work on every and any platform OO.o runs on.
So….go read, go fix, enjoy your (remarkably) faster OO.o Writer :)

Hey thanks for the link back :)
Nothing to thank, that was a good find, helped with the speed of my OO.oW :)
Thanks for the information. I know I’m slow getting to the thanking, but I had to get all the computers fixed first.
Seems to work on winders installs too.
I take it you got good speedups too? :)
And I’m glad to know it works on windows too…poor windows users shouldn’t suffer more than MS already makes them suffer :)
