I found a very good blog the other day, called Friedbeef’s Tech, and he’s got three articles up that rock. The first one is Top 10 Best Places to Get Free Books (Part 1) and then they added Top 10 Best Places to Get Free Books (Part 2). Not content with that, they grabbed all the suggestions from their readers and published Best Places to Get Free Books - The Ultimate Guide | Friedbeef’s Tech.

I have bookmarks to a whole bunch of free ebooks sites, but there’s a whole bunch of sites in those lists that I didn’t know about, all three posts are worth a go-through, you’ll find lots of good reading (and even listening, for those that like audiobooks) if you start clicking around :)

I see scribd on that list. I was there over last weekend — was stunned by the amount of copyrighted books. Want a copy of Getting Things Done? It’s there… yikes.

Yes, I noticed that too. I guess it takes all kinds, right? :)

Why can’t I see this on your front page?
It only goes up to the 12th

I have absolutely no clue why the hell WP is doing that…I post using ScribeFire (formerly Performancing for Firefox)…it’s always worked well…except the last 4 days or so…I have to edit the post and save it before it’ll post to the front page…it posts to the feed and it’s marked as Posted in the admin interface…but it doesn’t show up on the front page until I’ve edited it and saved it, without changing anything at all.

WP is going weird on me :/

Scribefire… that’s some weird mac-app isn’t it for the ilinux or whatever it is you’re running?

If I had to guess I’d say the time was set wrong on something somewhere. Is the timezone correct on your wordpress install?

I think you just nailed it on the head, buddy…the server’s time is wrong, and hour behind what it should be…I just left a msg to the admin, hopefully he’ll get it fixed and we’ll see if that gets everything right.

    Thanks for the debug :)

And, btw, ScribeFire is a Firefox plugin, used to be known as Performancing for Firefox…I don’t use macs, unfortunately don’t have the money to buy one…yet :P
