Changes! :)

Category: Admin | >

Lots of changes today in here, as you can probably notice :) I found this excellent theme called Garden, created by milo. I changed a bunch of plugins here and there and hopefully everything is working. If you find a problem, please let me know in a comment.

    Pretty spiffy!

What’s powering the “Favorite CDs” thingie? (We seem to be matching musical tastes at the moment - I too am deep into the Maiden collection lately).

The plugin is called Run For Cover and it’s a sidebar widget that pulls covers from my last.fm account :)

And I’m glad you like the new look :)

Loving the new look, like the last.fm plugin as well, that’s kinda spiffy come to think of it. I may look into stealing that one.

OH! I was at my Mom’s today and we were talking about books and she said “OH! I have found this great website you can download them from and I just read them on my laptop, and they’re even sci-fi!”

I sat up, “Is it Baen?”

“Yes! How’d you know? Why didn’t you tell me?”

“I didn’t think you’d like reading on the computer,” says I.

“Well, if it’s free I do, and I’ve found some new authors I like that way…”

So, Baen’s idea that free = more sales later is working in at least one case.

Thanks, Rich :) As I told Handy today, that sidebar widget is Run for Cover and I like it a lot :)

As for your mom…indeed, she’s not the only one…I remember when they got to the 1st year aniversary for the free library, Eric Flint wrote a “report” of what it had done for him…and it was amazing. His book sales went up 400 or so percent, higher still on books that were part of a series that had the first book or two in the free library. Giving stuff away pays :)

That knock you will hear on your door is the RIAA… if I were you I’d ‘lawyer up’ and ‘hunker down.’ :)
