Joel Spolsky, from joelonsoftware.com (great blog, btw), got to visit the newest high rise in New York, the 7 World Trade Center, and found himself confronted with an interesting new elevator technology.
Instead of having up and down buttons outside the elevators, there’s a
numeric keypad, where you key in the floor number you’re going to. Then

Bruce Schneier found an interesting article in U.S. News and World Report regrading the latest annual report from the Internet Crime Complaint Center about auction fraud and non-delivery of items bought being the most common internet crimes for 2006.
The report itself talks about it not being truly authoritative, due to the fact that many auction [...]

BoingBoing found an mp3 of Vonnegut’s first reading of Breakfast of Champions, back in 1970, three years before its publication.
This is a great thing to listen to, to remember him now that he’s gone.

I found a very good blog the other day, called Friedbeef’s Tech, and he’s got three articles up that rock. The first one is Top 10 Best Places to Get Free Books (Part 1) and then they added Top 10 Best Places to Get Free Books (Part 2). Not content with that, they grabbed all [...]

Well, Handy decided last night to play meme shuffle, forwarding Randa’s “I Follow” meme tag to me, due to the fact that he wrote a post about the whole nofollow thing last night. Of course…I bet he hadn’t read my blog yet ’cause I wrote about nofollow earlier today!
But since I’m not a lazy bum [...]

One of the most influential SF writers of his generation, Kurt Vonnegut, died last night (April 11th) in a hospital in Manhattan, after being hospitalized several weeks ago due to a fall, which caused irreversible brain injuries, according to his wife Jill Krementz.
There’s several articles and posts about his passing away, here’s just a sampling.

Well, there’s some talk around the blogosphere, at least among the users of wordpress, about the nofollow thing.
By default, WP adds the nofollow tag to the links appearing on every comment, so as to deny spammers the link love…and it was a good thing.
But now, we have much much better anti-spam tools than back when [...]

Well, in 2005, 24 federal agencies in the US got an average grade of D-minus in matters of security. A D-minus is a grade that my parents would have beaten me for, without a doubt lol! This past year, 2006, those same 24 federal agencies managed to get a C-minus, going up a whole grade…which [...]

Well, it seems like EOL time has come for the 1.5.x series of Firefox. The Mozilla team doesn’t seem to have advertised this very much, at least on their site, except for a small note in the “Other Systems & Languages” page, where you’ll see at the bottom:
Firefox 1.5:
This version of Firefox will be supported [...]

Ignore this, it’s just a test to try to figure out something.
Yes, something seems to be wrong.
And I have no clue what the hell it can be.
At first, I blamed the new theme.
But it doesn’t seem to be the culprit…I think it’s the upgrade to 2.0.10 :(
We’ll see.
EDIT/UPDATE: Ok, I think I found the problem, [...]
