Ok, I know this has nothing to do with anything I usually post about, but…I can’t resist, I really can’t :)
WAR RANDY!!! Randy “The Natural” Couture is the new UFC Heavyweight Champion, after dominating Tim Sylvia…hell, dominating is too soft a word…he made him look like an inadequate amateur!
If you don’t know what I’m talking about…just picture this:
- Mixed Martial Arts fight (punches, kicks and submissions allowed),
- Tim Sylvia, the champion, 6′8″, 264lb, 30 years of age.
- Randy Couture, the challenger, 6′2″, 222.5lb, *43* years of age…yes, forty three years old.
And the smaller, lighter, older Couture destroyed Sylvia…and became the first 3 time heavyweight champion in UFC history, and the first 5 time title holder in the UFC (3 heavyweight, 2 times light heavyweight)…all of them after the age of 35….as Rogan said during the fight, 43 year olds aren’t supposed to be dominating a combat sport, it just doesn’t happen…until now :)
If you want to see what it looked like, I’m sure youtube.com has the video…take a look at some of Tim’s previous fights too, so you can understand why Rogan and Goldberg are going crazy when Couture starts winning the standup fight…nobody ever thought that Randy could do that :)
