Ok, now I’ve found the biggest reason why I will *NOT* touch Windows Vista nor recommend any of my clients to touch it.

Bruce Schneier (security guru extraordinaire), posted on his blog about an article he found in the Washington Post website. It seems like BillG and his merry guys decided to ask the National Security Agency, aka NSA, the spookiest of the spooks in the US, to help them with security in Vista.

His guess (and mine) is that Microsoft did this trying to make people trust Vista more…and he thinks (and I agree) it will backfire big time.

I mean…would you trust a closed source operating system in which the major eavesdropping agency in the US stuck its hands? And no, my dear american readers, being in the US won’t save your butt from NSA…they *do* eavesdrop on american citizens “as part of the Bush administration’s effort to combat terrorism”, so…this is not only dangerous for foreigners like me.

“Our intention is to help everyone with security,” Tony W. Sager, the
NSA’s chief of vulnerability analysis and operations group, said
yesterday.

Do you trust them to help *you* with security, without sticking their hands into your data and communications? I know I don’t.

Read both Bruce’s analysis and the Washington Post’s original article…it’s enough to chill your blood.

Funny thing, I never even heard of the NSA until I watched Sneakers. Cool movie that failed because I was the only person that ever watched it.
