There’s an article in Security Fix about a Password-Stealing Trojan Disguised as Firefox Extension that everybody who uses Firefox on Windows should read. The Trojan comes in as an email that appears to be sent from Wal-Mart’s billing support department and includes a Firefox extension that is, in truth, a password stealing program that also monitors the victim’s network activity.

Remember to be careful with what you install in your computer, and don’t click on crap that arrives by email…if it’s a binary, it’s a trick, don’t fall for it. And equaliy important, don’t use the administrator account on your windows box (or the root account in your linux box) for anything but administration purposes…if you surf the web or read your email as root or administrator, you *will* get compromised and you *will* get your box broken into.
