I found this interesting post in The Standards Blog, which I monitor daily. Andy takes on the latest FUD spouting from Redmond, noting that it seems like the Powers That Be at the convicted monopolist have decided how they are going to face the ODF problem…with ultra-nice FUD…as usual.
It seems like Bill G’s army of trolls has been drumming up the new corporate line about ODF lately:
There are hundreds of industry-specific XML schemas used right now by industries spanning health care, real estate, insurance, finance and others. ODF isyet another XML-based format in the market….The ODF format is limited to the features and performance of OpenOffice and StarOffice and would not satisfy most of our Microsoft Office customers today.”
And you may believe as much or as little of that as you want.
